In 2026, over 21% of Singapore citizens are aged 65 and above. By 2030, roughly 1 in 4 citizens will be in this age group.

To support coordinated care across Singapore’s Healthcare ecosystem, The MOH will be proposing the Health Information Bill, making it a requirement for all licensed healthcare providers to share key health information of patients to NEHR.

This will include allergies, vaccinations, diagnoses, medications, laboratory test results, radiological images and discharge summaries.

However,

It is not a short journey to be certified as a HIA Compliant HIMs. 

In order to be a HIA Compliant HIMs, the following needs to be completed:

  • Cyber Essential for HIMs Certification by a 3rd party auditing company
  • Achieving System Integration Requirements & Testing
  • Conducting Data Integration testing with NEHR system 
  • Ensuring that current system is able to utilise & map national codeset
  • Complying to the Data Portability & security standards
  • Complying to the cybersecurity standards

Even after certification, there is the effort required for maintenance such as:

  • Frequent Dataset maintenance
  • CEM for HIMs certification (every 2 years)
  • Data quality management & troubleshooting in the event of data issues
  • Data Portability
  • Regular feature enhancements which includes effort for attending briefings, system enhancement, testing & system updates

Vanda's Capability

Vanda is already a HealthierSG compatible CMS since 2023. To be a HealthierSG compatible CMS, we are also required to onboard with NEHR & have been contributing patient data ever since.
